  • Hi Adam, Thanks for the input. Yes, I get that, but that isn't realistic, is it. All (10) tasks can't be completed in 4 hours. Because a task is "in progress", why does it ignore predecessor relationships then? Is there a way to set up the tasks (via duration type, etc.) that would make this refle...

  • My first reaction was, "You're kidding me, right?". It doesn't make sense - it's the wrong column. It also doesn't match the documentation. I don't even know how you find out that would work. Anyway, it *kind of* worked. A couple of points: It set the duration correctly for all but my subtasks. An...

  • I'm trying to import tasks using the Kickstart, and for some reason I cannot get the planned hours (or duration) to be set. The tasks get imported successfully as far as creating subtasks, percent complete, and predecessors, but I can't get the duration or planned hours set. I've attached a screensh...

  • Thanks Doug. I had actually thought of the enforced predecessor, but you can't put a successor task at 50% complete if the predecessor is not complete. So I'm stumped on how to have the project plan show real-world dates.

  • Well yes, if I show the others as NOT 50% complete and put them back to New status, the estimated due date will be in line. But that's not the case. All the other tasks ARE in process and the actual hours on all of them are 4 out of 8, so they are all 50% complete. I'm looking for a way to portray t...

  • I think this may be basic, but, when we show the project plan, we include the Estimated Due Date on the view because we believed this was the most accurate date of when a task would be completed based on current information. However, as a test, I created a simple project with 10 tasks, each taking 8...

  • Vern, I assume in your case the Users in each instance never cross over and do work with the folks in a different instance. If they do, how do you handle that? I also assume that your business is solidly divided and there is no need to do any reporting that combines more than 1 instance, right?

  • I asked a similar question regarding a Task View - if I could have an indicator that there is something in the Task Detail description since we rarely use it, and the description could be too large to display I was hoping I could have an indicator that you could mouse over to see the task details. I...
