Hello, POST request does not seem correct here. It should have complete path to whole asset for example modifying metadata at /content/dam/wknd/en/activities/hiking/equipment_6.jpg bring out something like below post request POST /content/dam/wknd/en/activities/hiking/equipment_6.jpg HTTP/1.1] Can you retry after cleaning the logs?

Rightly pointed out by @BrianKasingli that it is supposed to be Jcr API so the concept of ResourceResolver is not applicable as it uses sling API which is higher abstract level. You need to use the node level operations using JCR node interface.

Here good authoring experience means faster load by allowing cached content serve from dispatcher and no need to go to AEM server. Specifically on author instance only cache static content (js,css ) and steer clear of caching actual content as stale content can become an issue.

If your question is about finding out a special property on a component, try querybuilder page to experient with various queries. If you want to also update some value, try groovyconsole. Might have a bit of learning curve but you won't repent the te spent in the long run.

If you can make user part of "workflow_users", it will be a quick and fast way to enable the manage publication functionality. Hi There, I think you are talking about the Asset Http API which is mostly used for asset manipulation(crud operations) and not for search. Searching can be done using querybuider API which is exposed @ http://localhost:4502/bin/querybuilder.json and allows parameters to be passed on to the search engine. Please check https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/experience-manager-64/developing/platform/query-builder/querybuilder-api.html which will help to understand the overall big picture about AEM...

Hi There, Smart tags using Sensei has two options:1. Untrained/Default smart tags: These are assigned to assets uploaded without any inputs from the user. How the Sensei trains is completely black-box and user does not have any control over it. I don't think once you remove any smart tags, that information ever goes out back to Sensei to correct the tags. Also this makes a bit of sense as personalizing tags can conflict with other users' way of tagging the same set of object. So no training to t...

Hi There, OOTB metadata upload/download solution works only for metadata node's properties of an asset and as related assets are stored therein, it can't be done with this solution. Either you need to write something custom which csv kind of input basing it on OOTB solution or come up with something else. One thing I can think of apart from csv solution is creating a curl script/groovy script and feeding it with right properties. You can use SlingPostServlet in those script. Need to iterate thro...

Hi There, It is absolutely possible and any custom metadata schema that you create has to applied to a folder to allow the assets within that folder use the metadata schema. It means if you have defined a custom metadata schema and applied to a folder let's say /content/test then all the assets within will have that metadata schema available for editing. If your question is about the location where metadata schema is created then yes you are right that it gets created at /conf/global/settings/da...

Hi There, Metadata schema allows the distinction of file types using mime type mapping but neither a folder nor a metadata profile has any binding and impact on the mime type.It means unless you segregate the folders for separate mime type and attach needed metadata profile, you can not have separate field values getting mapped. Metadata profiles are really a concept to be applied in context of folders. So the way you want to achieve is not possible unless you split the folder or use workflow ba...

Hi There, There is no "dynamic media component customization or creation" documentation per se. At least I don't know and could not find anywhere. Anyhow, if you got access to AEM instance, you can check dynamic media component in AEM at /libs/dam/components/scene7/dynamicmedia. This component can be customized however having said that, it is a bit more involved. Dynamic media component not only creates the required scene7 publish url correctly depending on the MIME type, it also takes care of s...

Hi abhilashs827015, Please try out /etc/map mapping for this scenario. It allows for domain mapping so you can put entries which allow you to map exact domain. One more advantage is that /etc/map respects runmodes so you can pretty much create this for any environment. Please refer https://sling.apache.org/documentation/the-sling-engine/mappings-for-resource-resolution.html and http://blog.magmalabs.io/2016/07/26/how-to-use-internal-redirects-in-aem.html An entry like below would work;

Hi There, Just to understand a little bit more here, are you saying that external api content is not getting loaded and therefore not available for crawling. And external content api is not getting loaded because the event to load that content is not happening with while crawling is happening. If you are crawling the AEM site for creating search indexes, I would recommend the accepted pattern wherein AEM can push the content to indexer as part of publish replication agenet. This will also help y...

Hi Peter, This is not a simple use case 🙂 as you've wrote in your question. For me, this kind of sequentiality can be achieved only if you invoke the required workflow as a part of sub workflow or by writing a custom step at the end of DamUpdateWorkflow. Workflow Launcher have only 3 types of events available that too "jcr node events" and not sling ones so creating them would be difficult with a lot of trial and error and possibility multiple times invocation. I think you should revisit decisi...

Hi There, If you do not want to use any custom code for browser user agent identification and then request the image's format using fmt parameter then consider Smart Imaging feature of Scene7. It will convert the image based on browser's user agent and apply some other AI based optimization(Sensei based). Optimization is based on quality as well as some other parameters. Smart imaging comes bundled with Scene7 and therefore no extra cost is involved. What you need is a specific custom domain and...

Hi There, Please refer article https://techrevel.blog/2020/01/23/aem-custom-namespace/ which works fine. Just a little correction in the steps, if you just register it with namespace registration with a single line shown as below, it does not work(techrevel namespace): <'techrevel'='http://www.techrevel.blog'> To make it work also put the nodetype definition even if you don't need it like shown below:<'sling'='http://sling.apache.org/jcr/sling/1.0'><'nt'='http://www.jcp.org/jcr/nt/1.0'><'techrev...

Hi There, How are you firing your POST? Using curl? Postman? It is necessary to have a folder pre-existing where you want to upload an image. For example I use following command from curl console and it works:curl http://localhost:4502/api/assets/my-image123.jpeg -H"Content-Type: image/jpeg" --upload-file "preview_Monitor_template.psd" -v --user admin Try --upload-file to pass binary file. Thanks!

Hi, If you are using dynamic media to get the dynamic renditions of assets, you can always fmt parameter to get the desired mimetype of the image. You can have a look at https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/dynamic-media-developer-resources/image-serving-api/image-serving-api/http-protocol-reference/command-reference/r-is-http-fmt.html On the other hand you can definitely do mimetype conditional upload to DM if you are looking for that functionality. This is mostly around blacklisting some ass...

Hi there, If you have more than 1000 items in a bucket, you will get it even if you create an index for the only path. Reason is that when query is fired, it tries to use an index and get the result from the index but if you have more than 1000 items returned from the query which in fact uses index also, you will get this warning. So this problem is about the result set iteration and its size. You can not do away from this warning apart from making sure you do not have more than 1000 nodes under...

Hello, This scenario is coming up often now. Cloud manager allows multiple code quality pipelines but only one deployment pipeline which promotes the code till prod deployment with several steps including checks and approvals from CSE. I think two options are there with a bit of restrictions and varying degree of effort:1. Create separate branches (you can call them long running feature branches) and map them to the deployment pipeline when required. You can keep promoting or cancel the pipeline...

Is it only with Chrome or Chromium based browser after you did chrome browser update. If yes then there are two things:1. Download a patch from https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-experience-manager/package-manager-suddenly-stop-working-in-chrome-or-chromium/td-p/3645062. Upload using any other browser and install the package. One installed, chrome will also start working as expected. However all things are only for chrome. Did you try with other browsers? Thanks!

Answer by @hamidk92094312 already covers the link you can try and it works. In case you need to deny certain workflows from appearing in the drop down and it is true for all the users then a suggested approach can be to tag such workflows as system workflows. You can open the workflow properties and tag it with workflow/system and it won't appear in any drop down where user can select it.

hey, Here are the answers per me:1. While configuring the dynamic media(DM) in the cloud configuration, you need to mention the delivery time to DM(upload or activation), In your case activation make sense as no need to do re-upload or run DAM update workflow where scene7 uploading happens provided you selected upload option while configuring.2. DM stores only a single master file PTIFF which generates the dynamic rendition based on image presets. No static rendition will go to DM.3. Do not dele...

Hi There, This behavior is same in earlier version as well. One way is to put "Included Resource Paths & Content Types" like shown below however it is very restrictive way as regular expression does not work and path prefix has to be put up. I suggest you just uncheck the all resources and handle the same at apache level. So basically all the assets will be shown in-browser for streaming and then whenever you want to override this behavior, do that at dispatcher layer by adding for example below...

Hi There, Scaffolding is classic UI enabled feature and therefore it will take a lot of effort to build afresh in AEM 6.5 where all things like custom template, form elements need be defined. If you can stick to classic UI then that's the way to go. Did you check if content fragment as an alternative. It sort of does the same thing but saves the content in dam hierarchy.

Hi There,There are times when the permissions have to be very granular. If you are not provisioning all the permissions yourself and are happy with an OOTB group membership solution, I would suggest make user id a part of content authors group. If you want all the permission setup without relying on OOTB group, way is to export permission for content_author using acs permission tool and make your permission matrix similar. A bit of time consuming but ultimate way of doing the job. Thanks

A bit late reply but found out during my own debug session. You need to set up the filter ranking higher. You can do it using either osgi repository based configuration or setup your own mdc filter. This happens when mdc filter is not called up in the hierarchy of filters so setup it's ranking high enough. This resolved problem for me and my mdc pattern logs started firing up

The only resolution which worked for me is to allow anonymous access to /libs/granite/dispatcher/content/vanityUrls.htmlOnce given, publisher is able to hit the url and cache the vanity_urls at its end. All other setup is as mentioned already like installing VanityURLS-Components to publisher.
