cq:actionConfigs seems like a useful approach for some work I need to do. This page https://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/javadoc/com/day/cq/wcm/msm/api/ActionConfig.html lists a Java class of that name as being deprecated, but this page https://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/components.html doesn't say anything about that. Is the functionality deprecated? Is there a replacement approach for getting this functionality? Thanks

We tried for months to get a daycare account setup without success. I can work through our client to get the request filed, but in the interim, is there something I can do? This is v5.4

I'm having a heck of a time with JSPs not being recompiled after I edit them, and it seems to be getting worse over the last couple weeks. I've had some success with modifying the lastModified date of the JSP, but today even that is not working. I also looked at the lastModified date on the .java and .class files in /var/classes, and I see that they are incorrect - they're several hours in the future. Is there a different clock being use for those that I can check? Is there something beside the ...

I inherited some code from another agency that looks like thisif (WCMMode.fromRequest(request) != WCMMode.EDIT && WCMMode.fromRequest(request) != WCMMode.DESIGN && null != componentContext ) { componentContext.setDecorate(false); componentContext.setDecorationTagName(""); componentContext.setDefaultDecorationTagName(""); }to prevent CQ from auto-generating divs around components. It's in the page's body.jsp, and seems to affect the entire site. I like the results I've seen - are there any gotcha...

It looks like we just unbound all "mousemove" events from the $CQ copy of jQuery.

This sounds like something we saw in v5.4. There's JS in the segmentation framework that tracks your mouse position for segmentation purposes. I can't remember for sure, but I think we ended up using our own JS to remove the event listener for mouse move that CQ had created.

Are there any recommendations for or against using a parsys as the page's header, and allowing an author to drag on a logo, menu, etc, versus coding those into the JSPs associated with the page's template? I'd probably set the path of that header parsys to some common locations, so changes affect all pages. The use case is that I have a client who wants to push their agencies to build websites in CQ and use some common set of templates and components, but I expect a lot of variability in what the...

Is there a way to support multiple versions of a component? Supporting multiple versions of JSPs seems to be doable, but a couple things I'm not sure of. One would be versioning dialogs...could I put something in place that would respond to the dialog.overlay.infinity.json request and choose between multiple dialogs? The other would be handling calls out to OSGi bundles - I think it's supposed to be possible to have multiple versions of a bundle in Felix, but how would that be referenced in a JS...

The approach Ojjis suggests has been working for us.@Sham HC, we're using v5.4, but considering an upgrade. Is this behavior that has changed between there and 5.6?

Thanks, I'll check that out. Just looking at the source on github, it looks like multiple components could be added to each parsys - is that correct? Is there a way to limit that to one item per parsys? Scott, I was thinking more of an approach where the drag source is the Sidekick, which seems like I'd need to integrate with the ExtJS supporting CQ right?

Is there a straightforward way to build a component that can accept another component being dragged on without a parsys? Eg, perhaps I define a "row" component that creates three regions, each of which can have one component added, and that component might be video player, image, text, etc. I'm currently using v5.4, but upgrading to 5.6.1 might be a possibility.

Is there a recommended pattern for layouts that might not have a defined number of elements, and using a library like isotope for packing? I have a couple ideas on how to make this work, but if there are recommendations, I'd be interested in what people have done. Our front end devs are interested in using inuit.css as a grid system if that matters.E.g. www.mountaindew.com is similar to what we'd be trying to do.

We're looking at some layouts from the creative team that include a variety of grid type structures. I took a look at http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/mobile/responsive.html#Developing%20a%20Fluid%20Grid. In the section "Defining the grid using a page component" there is this example: Is the idea here that each parsys would have one grid item added to it, so this grid would always have 3 items? And in the example further down, under "Scaling the grid", this image wou...

If I have 2 components, A and B, and component A includes component B in the JSP like , and I drag component A onto a page, I can edit component A, but if I want to edit component B, I need to refresh the page. Is there a work around for this? I'm using v5.4; is this behavior updated in newer versions? Thanks

Thanks, guys.Justin, are you saying there is a way using more than JSPs? I was also experimenting with having a separate bundle that acts as a factory to sort out the version behavior. My understanding is that different bundles have different classloaders, but I'm not terribly clear on how that comes into play when service objects are being provided by one bundle to another.

I'm trying to explore options for maintaining multiple versions of code. I have three bundles which are essentially identical, except for a version indicator in the symbolic name, and the return value of a service method. I can install these to Felix simultaneously. Version 1.0.4 of the bundle has a property on the service class named version with a value of "1.0.4". Version 1.0.3 of the bundle has no such property, and version 1.0.5 has "1.0.5".If I call sling.getServices(MyInterface.class, "(v...
