Love this idea...so much that i actual made the exact same suggestion to
our old tool vendor, Webtrends. They also liked it but never made it.Now
we are at Adobe, and the argument is still that i can do a "Breakdown".
There are so many good use cases for having Dimension in a tabular view.
Think about a excel sheet. Imagine if there was only a option to include
text in one Column !. That would be weird. So why not adopt the same
approach in Adobe Analytics.
I highly support this idea.We use text boxes with links (Project Share
Links) to help users find the Reports/Projects they need. But when a user
try to click a link it in many cases go into edit-mode.And in other
similar cases it doesn't.I was looking for a "lock" option, and was sure
it would be there. But no So please make this a option, or the default.I
don't see cases where i as a Admin want other users to edit a Textbox i
We would like to set "mid" to a eVar via Processing Rule.On
Stackoverflow there is a reply that says: "Well PRs can populate
variables based on query parameters in the collection url, so you can
eVar or prop.
it does not say what we should use in PR to get the data from. I tried
"Query String Parameter" (assuming it would no...
In the report suite selector in Workspace all Virtual Report suites are
marked with a blue dot.I would wish there was a option to include a
Icon, or a color coding of some type. This can be used to show what
report suite it was made form, or it can show platform (Web, Android,
IOS)It should be up to admin, how they want to use this option. It all
depends on how the setup is.Example below is for the case where a Report
Suite is given a color, and that color is then shown on the Virtual
I'm new to AA, currently migrating from Webtrends. As i have stated in
other idea, most features are better in AA than in Webtrends. But one
thing i will miss is a spark-line per row in the (freeform) table. This
was standard in Webtrends Analytics 10, and looked like this.It
represented the trend for for the time-period selected on a daily
basic. It made it easy to identify a sudden shift in data for a row.In AA
Workspace i would imagine it would look like this.
Templates are a great feature. And it will help us in many cases. But it
is not my own (admin user) need/understanding i'm worried about. It's
the more average user. The essence of the issue is in your sentence:
"...you just need to pick the report suite once you load the project and
it should work". For many of our users this will be a new way of working
with the data. They normally don't "create" and save any "reports" them
self. They are consumers of reports. But let's see if we can get them
Unless i have misunderstood Templates, they don't act as a "Base
reporting" for "admin-selected" (virtuel) Report Suites. They are what
they say - Templates - a user can choose to use - which is great.I can
also choose to save one for each report suites, if i want to avoid that
all the "normal users" do it.So as i see it, it doesn't solve the issue
we will have when all users, have to build there own portfolio of
"Projects".This idea need to be seen in combination with the idea -
Select Report Su...
urs.boller as a new user of AA i haven't explored all options yet, but
we have used both Classifications and Processing Rules. And in some cases
they where the answer. But in those cases a option to create a dimension
would still have been a better solution. A real example is:We track page
interaction in a unified way, where we combine info, into a single
parameters (Interaction Name) based on context and other variables. We
do this in our TMS. So there are not always the same number of section....
When i see the list of Dimension, i would wish there where a easy way to
see if a Dimension is Hit or Visit based. And what Allocation is
used.Today we have to include this in the Description and/or in the
actual naming. For certain dimensions it make big difference if a user
chose the Hit based, or the Visit based. For those dimensions, where we
have both we include it in the name. But i would prefer if this was show
with a icon, or other visual indicatorMy quick mock examples below. For
I would like a option to chose a new time-period directly in a graph by
simple selection the period with the mouse. This is possible in tools
like Qlik, and is a easy and fast way to analyse a relevant time-period.
The issue is that In Workspace a Project is made for ONE report suites.
So when the Project is selected it will show data for that specific
Report Suite. We planned to make generic Project, like Traffic Source,
Browsers, Payment etc, that can be used across all or many reports
suites. So our plan was to make these project and then select Report
Suites it was relevant for. But we realized that is not how Workspace
works.Instead is required that we copy the project and save one for each
I would like a option to choose a Report Suite or Virtual Report Suite
directly from the Workspace "start page".The report suites should be
placed in the left side menu, where project links are located now (My
Favorite Project + Frequently Viewed Project)When i then select a report
suite from the list the project listed should reflect those
made/assigned* for that specific report suite.(* assigned: This is a
part of the idea Assign a Workspace Project to multiple Report Suites )
As it is now, i ...
I'm new to Adobe Analytics, currently migrating from Webtrends.Only very
few things work better in Webtrends than in Adobe. But the one feature
that have surprised me most, not being available in Adobe is the option
to Create a Dimension. In Workspace i can create a metric, a segment and
a date range. But not a dimension - something i would see as one of the
most essential thing. My idea is to add a feature where i can create a
dimension, in the same way as i would create a segment or a Metric. It
I would like the Workspace to include the line breaks we have made in
our descriptions on the variables (evar, prop and events)In Admin i can
make a description like this:I make the line break for a reason. It
makes it easier to read. But in Workspace it look like this.
