OK I see. Would anyone have a scripting solution to update this Form property on open, say based on the value of a Text field on the form. Or possibly user initiating a change by entering a value into a text field and clicking a button.?

I have a simple XSD and XML file with some data that I want to bind and bring into my PDF form. I've created a Data Connection to the XSD, and then dragged the fields into my PDF from the Data View. When I open the PDF I don't get any data from my XML...it seems in order to being in the data I have to go to Forms -> Manage Form Data -> Import. Is there a way to have the PDF bring in the XML data automatically when it opens?

Paul,I am using Acrobat. It just seems very odd that the response works fine but not the request. I'm not even sure how to troubleshoot.

I am trying to connect my LiveCycle form to an Oracle database procedure to pull down some data. My friends over at Oracle aren't much help here so I'm hoping someone here can provide some assistance.This is a simple hello world test I running. I have a WSDL I created using a text editor, a PL/SQL procedure that returns a SOAP envelope, and a form with a data connection pointing to the WSDL - I dragged the data connection onto my pdf form to create the (2) fields, one is a request string field t...

Struggling with PDF forms and Livecycle Designer/Technologies...I am looking into replacing some of our Word doc forms with PDF forms. Easy enough creating simple PDF forms from the .docs.But from there we'd like to investigate options for going paperless. So the idea is we have our PDF forms stored off on our network shares, just like always. Person opens a form in Reader, fills it out then Submits it. In some cases, the submitted form would need to be routed to another individual for approval,...

Where can I find the source code for the Mortgage Application? I've installed LiveCycle Data Services ES and have the server working but I don't see the source for this app, and can't see to find a download for the LiveCycle ES SDK either?tiaKevin

Well, I did put "alerts" in the Fault handler, and it never gets called...the hourglass (clock) comes up for 10 seconds (or whatever I set the timeout to), then just simply goes away...

How do you properly handle HTTPService calls that never return with Result or Error? I have one that repeatedly sits and sits, never coming back from the server.If I set timeout, that's fine, but then how to gracefully tell the user the call has been timed out?

Greg, Thanks for the reply, that helps, but when I switched tousing an XMLList I could loop through no problem. I've got it working to that point but still NOT working...**sigh**As soon as I call the next "PopTREF" (see below) function the_previous_ Combobox's data gets wiped out.This is so difficult I feel as though I must be missingsomething conceptually with the way data operations work with Flex.HTTPService+event messes with my head. It would be SO easy in PHP,ASP, ASP.NET...etc...especially...

I think I see what you're saying...instead of querying foreach individual combo box source separately, just query once andget all the data. Then I suppose I need help with the AS code forparsing the xml and populating the combos...I've tried this in my HTTPServer result event but it's notgiving me any result at all:
public function httpResult(event:ResultEvent):void { result = event.result; //Do something with the result. //txtOutput.text=String(result); var thisColl:XMLListCollection; thi...

I would like to have my flex app send data to a pdf form(then back again). I've seen mention of XPAAJ but can't seem tolocate the library XPAAJ.jar anywhere...where is this? No longeravailable? Is there an alternate way of sending data to PDF, thenback to Flex again? We own Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I am on Linux Oracle appserver and looking to use java.Any ideas are appreciated...

I am new to Flex, just getting my feet wet. As such I have asingle form I thought would be a good dry run to learn a bit.The form has 53 drop down comboboxes. Most of the combos haveunder 10 values, and all the values for all the combos are storedin 1 table (Oracle) differentiated by a "CODE".So, for example, one combo might be Gender, and in thedatabase it looks like:
CODE VALUEGENDER MaleGENDER Femaleetc.
I have a database procedure that kicks out XML for thedatabind - that works fi...
