IMO no such hooks available. Configure your service to have both day & night settings. In service factory have the instances pick right configuration based on a time pattern.

the ugc report search for cq:Comment nodes & your node is way above it & does not work.  Read the document scott shared & define the query at page level rather than comment level then using subpath your report can be generated.

There is variable cq_ctrlport in the instsrv.bat file. You need to modify it for one of the instance.Modifed the cq_ctrlport to different portuninstalled the serviceran instsrv.bat.
