What he is trying to explain is: if you want annotations to be allowed, then you must save your form as a "Adobe Static PDF form" in LiveCycle and then enable it in Accrobat pro or reader extensions. Once you do, then the dynamic properties of the form will no longer work, like buttons or subforms opening and closing. It basically becomes just like a form that you created in Word and converted it to a PDF. The first image below is a dynamic PDF with the button functioning and the new section ope...

Thanks Karl. I have Acrobat DC as part of the Creative Cloud so maybe that's where I need to be enabling my forms?

If you download ES4 this way it does NOT include Reader Extensions to enable your forms to save the data that people have typed in. You can use Acrobat Pro DC to enable the forms but the license with the product only allows 500 forms to be enabled. Otherwise, your company can purchase the Reader Extensions Server but that's like $13,000 or some such crazy number.I have been talking to Adobe about this exact issue because I bought Acrobat Pro X just so that I could have the same version of the so...

What I did is, I set a button at the bottom of the form to let the user see the help page if necessary. The Help Page is set to "Hidden" in the presence on the object palette. The button itself is "Visible Screen Only" (why that's not the default for all buttons is beyond me). Then I created the Condition in the Tools/Action Builder that when the "Show Help Page" button is clicked,Page2 (the help page becomes visible) If you printed the file now, both pages would print. But since you want the use...

I'm looking at your form and I have a question. I also do not write any javascript code but use the Tools section to set up a "Condition" and then a "Result".But my question is, doesn't every item in your item list HAVE or correspond to an item description? If so, this would be easier to NOT have a list box for the description and unit price but have a text field that displays the proper description for the item and price when something is chosen from the list.Or do I misunderstand the problem?

My agency is using a Microsoft CRM to house all the data on clients. How can I make my LiveCycle forms connect to that CRM to populate information from the CRM and then back to the CRM once the user fills out the form?

I have a client who appreciates being able to fill out forms onscreen but has many users who will print out the form and handwrite in all the information for large narratives. He wants the text fields to expand and wrap correctly if the form is used on screen, but to contain lines for the narrative when printed out and filled in manually.Does anyone know of a way to do this so it displays correctly within a text field? In playing around with the text field, I designated it with "Custom" chosen a...

Assure Dynamics has an example of how this can work. You can download it here:http://http://assuredynamics.com/index.php/portfolio/changing-an-objects-presence-and-relevant-properties/They also have posted many, many other examples of things that LiveCycle can do. Good luck.

Bar I have a form that will be scanned and I need the pdf417 barcode to automatically generate the Page 1 of 12 or whatever the count will be. You can't make a Collection list with the floating fields of CurrentPage and PageCount so could someone please offer a suggestion as to how to accomplish this. I guess I'm not understanding well enough how to do this. We have individual fields on the form, one each for name, street address, city, state, zip code and case number. How do I make that one QR pick up the data from each field as the user enters the information or would I have to use a different type of barcode or do something inside the form to group those fields so that all that data is collected?

We are starting a scanning process for our forms. We have several fields that we want to pick up the data from ie: clients name, address and case number. We are currently trying to use a paper forms barcode but it takes up a huge amount of real estate on the form. Is there another barcode that will work with a scanner that can store the data in a smaller footprint? I would appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you.

I have a table that figures mileage at .576 per mile and in the total field I want the total to display as the nearest whole cents result, such as $56.23 or $56.22 depending on the result. I can Sum the column with success but it's the rounding up or down that I don't know how to write into that field. I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you.

Well, I spoke too soon so I'm starting this thread again. The above script works great except it rounds everything to the next highest number. The requestor would like everything from 2.0 to 2.4 to round DOWN and everything from 2.5 (or whatever number they are entering) to round UP.I tried changing the command in this script from "ceil" to "round" which does work just fine except now the amount for the "Payout" calculates the entire amount they typed in the mileage field. If they typed 2.4 mile...

Ok, now I'm really confused. Do both of these script lines go into the field where they enter the miles called "mileage" or the field where it calculates *.56 called "auto" or one in each?

I have a form asking for miles traveled. I need what they enter to round up to the next nearest whole mile. I have called that field "mileage". I have set it to whole numbers and it rounds up nicely for display. Now I need to multiple that new rounded "mileage" number by .56 (that field is called "auto"). What I currently have in the "auto" field is: mileage*.56 Unfortunately, it still uses whatever they type in to calculate with and not the rounded up "mileage" whole number. What script do I nee...

My company is working with a vendor who had requested that I "flatten" my LiveCycle created pdf so as to remove the XML data and interactivity from the form so it no longer has fill in fields. After much research I found a very simple solution and wanted to post it here because the discussions that I waded thru on this forum to find out how to do this process were varied and lengthy. But in reality, the solution is quite simple. I opened my regular LiveCycle file in LiveCycle and chose "print" f...
