Create a task from a comment/update - Workfront 30-07-2018

I have just discovered that some of the fields on my custom forms no longer have choices or boxes in which to enter information when users are trying to make requests. This was working properly before the update. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Barb Pilarski Pittsburgh Penguins

Hi @Monique Evans. Thanks for the suggestion! We tried that initially, but after 2-3 seasons the list got too long to manage. Plus, we now need to include the dates for the season (2018-19) in the field name for reporting reasons - this results in us needing to create a whole new field.

We have a field for our player roster each season that usually only involves a handful of changes from year to year. It would be very helpful to be able to leave the core roster intact and only have to delete and add a few names to make the new field.

This would be the most time-saving change you could make for our users. Because all of our projects are managed by our video production, social media and creative services teams our projects all need to be organized with a parent/child structure. Between the three departments we can average up to 30 new requests per day - even more during peak season. Even if we have to maintain three different forms - it would be fantastic if the custom data would automatically transfer during conversion instead of needing to sort through the list of available forms and select the correct one to transfer the data. We have had more than one instance of information being lost because the wrong form was selected from the drop down in the process of converting an issue to a task.

We currently use a custom view on reports to show the Converted Issue Originator Name but it would be so much easier for the person working on a task if that information is included in the assignment information/ reference number block.

This is a feature we have wished existed for quite some time! For example, we have two different forms for requesting video coverage of an event and still photography. Those two types of requests are handled by two different people. If we could include both on the same form but use an if/then statement to route the two forms to their respective locations, it would save us a ton of time and make our users very happy.
