Yes good to know you can have articles that aren't referenced in any collection and link to them for special purposes. Thumbs up.

At the time the only solution is to find a happy medium and set up cards that use type sizes that will display on both device classes.

You can't use the copy of the font that you used for cards and layouts.You can however include the same font with each article using web fonts and the @ font-face rules in your CSS.
