How is your HTML set up? One tall HTML or separate HTML pages? If one tall HTML, how about links to anchors in the HTML? If separate, aren't you able to use the same navto:// link structure? I thought you could but I could be wrong.

InDesign and DPS Classic (2014) would let you assign two separate inDesign layouts as the sources for the Vertical and Horizontal displays for the same article. This no longer works in DPS 2015 (2016?)HTML can be set up as responsive, which means that one HTML layout can "respond" to how it is being displayed and therefore the design adapts to the orientation, and one layout serves as the source of both the Vertical and the Horizontal displays for the one article. Ah, I see. Spoke too soon.I do get a blank page minus the menu and app header.Here's a screenshot of the errors that load in Chrome's inspector:Dropbox - web_viewer_test_errors020916.png‌Note the 404 on edge.publish.adobe.com towards the middle of the page. It's probably a combination of things....

I totally agree with @haeme_ulrich.Many users see a prompt to install an app and they:A) Won’t install the app.and B) Will never come back or tap on a similar link because they know they’ll get the prompt to install the app WITHOUT the option to say “No Thanks” and continue to the content.The "get the app" teaser is a good idea, it should not be a wall on mobile.As @haeme_ulrich stated, it would greatly help with conversion rates.Here are the benefits that enabling the Web Viewer on mobile devic...
