To answer my own question, there wasn't anything wrong with the dispatcher/sling mappings configuration.   The Author had clicked on Authentication Requirement on their home page but we don't have that set up

hi folks,I've always put my virtual hosts into a single publish farm (the /virtualhosts part) Is it still o.k. to do this for new virtual hosts.? There is some dispatcher documentation showing a farm per virtual host. However all my existing sites are not done like this. I assume I don't have to ?. ...

Hi folks,I have a lot of .snapshot packages in /etc/packages/<various>/.snapshot  directories. I have been deleted them with curl scripts as they are taking up space. Just checking it is o.k. to do this . thanksFiona

Thanks. Actually I think my problem was that I configured the package garbage collector via a OSGi config file. When i ran it manually from system/console/configMgr it worked o.k.
