When we try to activate an audience to LinkedIn, the audience builds for over 2 weeks - and we can't push the ads until the audience is done building. Has anyone experienced this? Or figured out a work-around. Any advice would be appreciated

For destination activation, you need to publish your audience.
Refer below screenshot, "activate to destination" button is disabled.
Not published Audience
Published: (Activate to destination button is enabled) and you can activate it with linkedIn or any other destination as per your requirement.

Thank you for your response - we publish the audience in CDP to LinkedIn ... but it builds (in LinkedIn) over several weeks - and while it's building - we are unable to activate in the LinkedIn campaign. It seems that the problem is in the integration between CDP and LinkedIn - Not sure why it's taking so long for the data that is activated in CDP to build in LinkedIn. Any ideas?
