Target Recommendations: based on customer level data?

Avatar

Level 1

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone is able to help me understand whether Target Recommendations can recommend products based on specific customer level data (ie a customer ID)? I know there is a recommendation key for "last purchased item" - is anyone able to give me a bit more detail on how this is determined?

I'm looking to understand if whether recommendations can be tailored to specific customer purchasing behaviour - ie if someone frequently buys "sportswear" from the retailer, can I test whether recommending them more "sportswear" will increase conversion or whether I should build a recommendation that offers other types of products.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
