Adobe Target best way to collect data with platform mobile sdk

Hi all, 

we are facing an issue regarding Target implementation.

Assuming we are using Mobile Platform SDK only to implement Target solution we were choosing the best approach to send Target data to have information on user (profile info and entity details). 

Would it be correct to use sendEvent Action to send adobe edge data payload or it is not necessary and we may only use updateProposition Api? 

Thanks in advance.

My concern is that we only use target, not analytics or other solutions.
