Hi All,
First let me say that we have been customers using Adobe Target for about 8 years now and have loved the solution. There have been some bumps here and there as with all software, but the solution is powerful and has allowed us so much flexibility in displaying different experiences for varying factions of our customer base.
I have been OOO for the last three months, and while I was out we were moved to the new UI. Since i've returned and been spending time in Target, I'm saddened to say that with this update the solution has taken a significant step backwards in usability. Obviously, any change requires time to get used to it, so I checked with my team to see if it's gotten easier for them... it hasn't. In what appears to be an attempt to make the VEC less technical (or more like AEM?), we've lost the ability to actually review code to make updates, this necessitates working in a separate solution in order to code appropriately and then copy and paste back into Target, often including much more code than should be necessary. Page delivery doesn't show the exact page that an activity is on. The visibility of the VEC is also significantly diminished, where we cannot adjust sizing of the audiences or pages tab and have to have a large extra monitor in order to even see modifications -- with no indication of a way to view them from a laptop.
I'm sure I'll get more used to it, but I just wanted to share some feedback beyond my account team and ask if others have found benefits from the new UI that we're missing or share in our frustration. We had several tickets initially because of missing functionality and visibility (such as with page delivery) that appear to have been improved, but overall it feels like this new UI was pushed out before it was ready and is still lacking - we miss the old UI.
Again, we love the power of Target. But this change has diminished its usability and introduced a significant number of additional steps and clicks in order to accomplish our goals.
What has your experience been like?
Thanks,
Robbie
Additionally, Adobe has published documentation explaining the new changes and providing guidance on how to adapt to the updated interface.

Hi Gokul_Agiwal,
Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, these resources do not help the fact that in an effort to make the UI more like the other solutions, that Adobe has made their best Experience Cloud product much much worse. The idea that this is more intuitive is laughable. I've found ways to accomplish most of what I need to do, but everything takes additional clicks and additional time.
And the way the transition was handled should be embarrassing to the company. Activities from the previous UI are not available for viewing or editing anymore, even though they remain live on the site.
The page delivery bug is still present where the details of the activity does not show the actual URL that the experience is on (which we were told was fixed), and I just came across another bug, where if I change the source page by adding simply another parameter (no root page changes), the modifications will not persist - even if i say 'apply modifications' after the change, they're gone.
I don't understand how a company as big as Adobe could fumble this so badly, it seems as if they had a hard deadline and completely skipped over quality control steps. And unfortunately, we have not seen improvements since this was forced on us.
I appreciate you trying to help, but this self-inflicted wound by Adobe makes me interested in exploring other software options for my company for the first time in 9 years.
Thanks

Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback — I completely understand how frustrating these issues are, especially with UI changes that add extra steps and bugs that impact existing activities.
As community member I can help with workarounds where possible, but since some of the problems you’re seeing involve missing legacy activities and persistent product bugs, the best next step would be to raise this directly with the Adobe Customer Support team. ( Not sure if you done this step already)
They can review your specific implementation and escalate these issues internally.
If you need help finding the right support channel or want to share more details, feel free to update the thread — happy to help.
Thanks,
Gokul
