Hi All,
First let me say that we have been customers using Adobe Target for about 8 years now and have loved the solution. There have been some bumps here and there as with all software, but the solution is powerful and has allowed us so much flexibility in displaying different experiences for varying factions of our customer base.
I have been OOO for the last three months, and while I was out we were moved to the new UI. Since i've returned and been spending time in Target, I'm saddened to say that with this update the solution has taken a significant step backwards in usability. Obviously, any change requires time to get used to it, so I checked with my team to see if it's gotten easier for them... it hasn't. In what appears to be an attempt to make the VEC less technical (or more like AEM?), we've lost the ability to actually review code to make updates, this necessitates working in a separate solution in order to code appropriately and then copy and paste back into Target, often including much more code than should be necessary. Page delivery doesn't show the exact page that an activity is on. The visibility of the VEC is also significantly diminished, where we cannot adjust sizing of the audiences or pages tab and have to have a large extra monitor in order to even see modifications -- with no indication of a way to view them from a laptop.
I'm sure I'll get more used to it, but I just wanted to share some feedback beyond my account team and ask if others have found benefits from the new UI that we're missing or share in our frustration. We had several tickets initially because of missing functionality and visibility (such as with page delivery) that appear to have been improved, but overall it feels like this new UI was pushed out before it was ready and is still lacking - we miss the old UI.
Again, we love the power of Target. But this change has diminished its usability and introduced a significant number of additional steps and clicks in order to accomplish our goals.
What has your experience been like?
Thanks,
Robbie
