Hai all,

Could anyone tell me where can I find the properties or explanation for the Render Form Guide & Submit Form Guide services of Samples-Forms category, in Workbench ES?

Thanks,

I don't really know much about the samples. They are not documented in the Workbench help because they are not part of the Workbench ES product.

If you are rendering the form guide to appear in Workspace ES, you should use the Render Form Guide ES Update 1 and Submit Form Guide ES Update 1 and follow the guidelines in the Quick Start at  http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/wb_help/000462.html.

For my curiosity, if there is a reason that you do not want to use those services I would be interested in understanding.

thanks

Hi Aswani,

All the services that can be used in a process are documented in the Service Reference in Workbench ES help.

Render Form Guide: http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/wb_help/000682.html

Submit Form Guide: http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/wb_help/000722.html

See the subtopics for the invoke operation of each service

hope that helps!

Thanks Scott...

But the link you have mentioned explains about Render Form Guide ES Update 1 & Submit Form Guide ES Update 1..

So.. does it mean that... Render Form guide & Render Form Guide ES Update 1 are one & the same?

You're right, sorry I misread your original post.

Here is the documentation for the sample:

Sorry Scott..

Actually you were in the right way in explaining me.. I think you got confused with my question..

U have mentioned the url for the "Render Form Guide ES Update 1" & "Submit Form Guide ES Update 1" & their invoke operations respectively...

But what I actually asked is.. the "invoke" operations of "Render Form Guide" & "Submit Form Guide"..

Are the "Render Form Guide" & "Render Form Guide ES Update 1" are the same services????

But, I think both are different. Because, "Render Form Guide" service is available in "Samples-Forms" category...

And, "Render Form Guide ES Update 1" service is in "Process Management" category...

I have attached a screenshot of the services. Please check out that & explain me where can I find the properties of the "invoke" operation of

"Render Form Guide" & "Submit Form Guide"...

Hope you have got my question..

Thanks Scott..

I'm not sure if they are the same...I don't have an LC ES environment to reference at the moment. But you can see for yourself....when a process is deployed, a service is created for it. These services that you are interested in are for several different processes. Look in the Processes view and you'll find the processes with the same name as the services. You can open them and see if they are the same.

What is it that you want to do? Make your form guide appear in Workspace ES?

Hai Scott..

Thanks for the reply..

I can able to render the form in Workspace ES...

What I actually need is.. the Service Input & Service Output parameters (like environmentBuffer, formUrl, targetUrl, userAgent, etc.)

for "Render Form Guide" & "Submit Form Guide".. (services present in Samples-Forms category)

Where can I find them in Workbench ES Help?

Hope you are clear with the question now..

Thanks a lot Scott..

Your explanation was really helpful..

I just want to tell you the reason, why I raised such a question.

When I first started to work on the rendering of forms using Livecycle Workbench & Workspace ES, I got to read two different pdf.s..

both named "fggettingstarted"..

which explains clearly the steps, right from creating a form, till rendering the same in workspace..

In the first link mentioned below, it is said to use "Render Form Guide" service & in the second link, "Render Form Guide ES Update 1" service..

Thats where, I got the doubt which one to use?

Please check out with the below links..

Under the topic "Creating an xfaForm variable" in the Chapter "Using a Form Guide in Workspace ES".

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/es/fggettingstarted.pdf

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/8.2/fggettingstarted.pdf

Thanks!

I'm glad I could  help.

I see how the confusion was created. It's unfortunate that the processes in the 8.2 samples have the same name as the in-product render and submit processes in 8.0.

Scott..

Even I am glad that I could clear you what my confusion is!!!

So, will there be any change if I use "Render Form Guide" instead of "Render Form Guide ES Update 1" service, in my variable?

If there is any change, will it affect widely, while rendering the form in Workspace ES?

(like any errors or problem in rendering?)

Could you please suggest which service should I use now?

I am currently working with Livecycle ES 8.2.

Thanks Scott!

For LC ES 8.2, you should use the Render Form Guide ES Update 1 service and the Submit Form Guide ES Update 1 service. These are well-documented and will definitely work.

As I mentioned before, I don't know much about the samples, and I don't know if they will work as well as the ES Update 1 services.
