Hi,
Been reading for forums for a few months on and off and really am stick with this one. I have JS put on a regular button that works fine on a PC or laptop and send the email with the subject of a field completely fine, my issue is when we go of site with our iPhones/iPads/Android devices. We have a combo of easyPDF and PDFexpert on the devices and they all load the document fine but when it comes to the email button it does nothing! Has anyone come across this at all, and if so how did you fix it?
I have made the document static at the moment as well as reader enabled.
Regards

This may not solve your immediate needs, but if you need to build more sophisticated forms that do work on iPad and Desktop versions of Reader, we do have a solution, called Avoka SmartForm Composer.

Hi,
You are not going to have much joy with XFA Forms on iOS or Android devices. See discussion here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3991098#3991098#3991098.
Certainly you will have more sucess with a Static PDF Form, however the extent to which functionality will be limited will depend on what the user has on the iPad.
Overall I think PDF Expert for iPad is the best. Adobe does have a free Reader for iOS, but sadly not all features are supported.
In any case I would stick with JavaScript and not use FormCalc at all for scripting requirements. FormCalc is an Adobe language for XFA Forms and may not be supported on an iOS device.
Good luck,
Niall

I ask this as I have a field that auto fills with the days date which works fine and another "test" button that submits email via the URL and works fine. I was hoping this would be an easier way the list them in SharePoint instead of making customer handlers in there. Looks like Im wrong

Hi,
Depending on what app the user has on their device will largely influence whether the functionality will work or not: see screenshots in link above.
At the moment, I would not depend on XFA Forms on mobile devices. That may change over time, but for the time being I would not recommend it.
Have you looks at Adobe's FormsCentral, which is a forms service on Acrobat.com. Forms created here can be delopyed and returned on mobile devices.
Good luck,
Niall

Hi,
No, unfortunately it is a completely separate system. You create forms online and are deployed from the cloud. It is a good alternative for simple forms, as it does not have all of the functionality/flexibility of LiveCycle.
Also some features, like skip logic and email notifications require a subscription (which is reasonably priced).

Ah then it wouldn't be a good option for us. I think I will have to get SharePoint to do the work. I was hoping to just use the email button to auto fill the subject line with whats put in a field. Its a same it doesnt work on iOS or Android.
