Making multiple, visible lines in text field

Hello all, I am sure that this is a simple thing, but I can't find the answer anywhere: I am trying to make a text field that has multiple lines, but I need all of the lines to be visible (underlined) even when its blank - this will be a printed form. How do I do this??

Use a text object and a text field.

In the text object you only add underlines (_) until it's full.

Then, put the blank text field over the text object.

Hi,

Another suggestion would be to use a single multiline textfield. Then behind this draw a horizontal line across the full width. Position this at a y-coordinate under the first line of text.

Select the line and in the Edit menu you can select Copy Multiple. This dialog allows you to specify the number of copies (the number of lines in the multiline textfield), the direction (vertical below) and the spacing (for starters, try the height of textfield/number of lines-1). May take a few attempts to get the spacing right for your font.

Hope that helps,
