Is it possible to use the 'Place Initials' and 'Place Signature' tools ('Fill & Sign Tools') to capture electronic signatures with a Dynamic PDF?

We have designed a PDF using Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES4 and saved it as a Dynamic PDF. The PDF will be distributed as an XDP file so that it will auto-fill with data when opened. The PDF needs to be dynamic so that tables can size themselves to fit the data contained in the XDP.

Our users will be using Adobe Reader, so we have saved the PDF as an Reader Extended PDF (Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in and save)) in Acrobat XI Pro.

Our goal is to allow the users to use the 'Place Intitials' and 'Place Signature' tools to sign the PDF in various locations, save the PDF, and return it to us. We don't want to use digital ids for signing. Often this will need to be done in an offline environment.

We have been unable to use these tools with a Dynamic PDF, although they seem to work fine if we save as a Static PDF?

My questions are these:

  1. Is it possible to collect and save these electronic signatures on a dynamic PDF form?
  2. If so, what do we need to do to allow make this happen?
  3. Is this can be done, can these signatures be used to lock the form to prevent further editing other
than the addition of other electronic signatures?

Appreciate any help/advise the experts here can provide.
