How to configure Watchfolder for PS to PDF

HI all,

We have a license version of adobe livecycle 8.2 for ReaderEnable and PDF Generator.

The ReaderEnable was implemented successfully and its working fine.

A new watchfolder was created for PDF Generator, when I place the .ps in the "input" folder its going to "stage" folder, no failure report was generated, what will be the problem, please see the screen shot below, some of the fields were empty is that causing the problem.

Hi Jasmin,

No .log files were generated, because of this I am not able to guess what will be the problem.

Can you please let me know how to configure in step by step, so that I can check whether my configuration was correct or not.

Do I need to configure any printer or any other software for the PDF Generator ES.

In the Samples of Workbench --> Tiff to PDF was working fine.

But the PS to PDF not working in Samples of workbench itself.

Hi Jasmin,

I tried to upload the .ps manually in "Create PDF", this time I got the error code.

Error code:12514 using custom setting
Error Code:1001 using our job options

The first one is custom setting and the 2nd one is our job options. In the Error Code explanation PDF I found that "1001" stating that its not compatible, 12514 says that contact administrator or adobe technical support.

What will be the problem,

The application server will have a log file. If you're using JBoss it'll be under C:\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle ES2\jboss\server\lc_turnkey\log\server.log.

Please note that I have installed LiveCycle alone in a machine, no other software present in the machine.

Installed Flash & framework.

In forum and google some of them saying that the PDF Generator needs Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Pro Extended.

Is Adobe PDF the default printer on that system?

I'm also worried with all the JMS errors you have in your log.

I worked just fine on my machine.

I have Acrobat on my machine but I don't think you need it.

What OS and app server are you using?

Hi Jasmine,

No Adobe PDf is not the default printer, do I need to install it.

My LiveCycle is Windows version and installed turnkey process not manually.

You do get this error in the log: "Error pdfgen.exe: "Adobe PDF" is not setup as the default Windows printer on this system

Error pdfgen.exe: 1801 The printer name is invalid."

I am totally new to this, so please give me suggestion to incorporate the PDF Generator.

You have the server.log files with you now u need to tell me what are the things I need to do to get the LiveCycle PDF Generator in place

I will download the Adobe PDF printer driver and install, then what else I need to do.

Installed Acrobat Pro 9 in my machine, now its working fine.

Finally the watch folders are in place.
