How can I edit text field caption; it is showing up greyed out?

Hi,

I'm trying to edit a text field caption using LiveCycle Designer, but for some reason the caption box is showing up greyed out.  Does anyone know how I can edit the existing caption?

I tried doing this in Adobe Acrobat Pro first, but couldn't find a way to do it; so when I went to go edit forms it opened up LiveCycle Designer but now I can't enable the caption box.

Anybody know what the cause of the "caption" box being greyed out is?

Make sure your field actually has a caption. Select your field object and in the Layout palette at the bottom underneath Caption make sure a Position is selected.

I checked under "Layout > Caption" section but the "Position" pull down menu is also greyed out.

I tried deleting and adding a new text field but the same issue occurs.

All I can think of is that you're using a Text object and not a Text Field object.

Can you post the pdf?
