formattedValue

Is there a way to dynamically change the formattedValue of a field? I'm using Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2

I have a recurring table where a user can either enter a percentage or an amount in the same column/field depending on the section they are in.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :-)
