Floating text field

I believe this is what I need help with.

I am trying to have the users of a form insert text into a text box.  The text box is contained within a cell of a table.

For example:

Email project engineer {enter engineers name here} to inform them ...

This is what the text field states.  Will the floating text field option allow the form user to enter a name in the {enter engineers name here} section?  If that is the case how do I edit the options so that it shows up on the form?  If I select the visible option under the presence drop down list designer splits the cell and drops in a separate text field.

Thanks

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  If I'm not explaining my questions properly please let me know.  Thanks

No the floating field is not n interactive element. It is used to merge data into then it becomes static text. It sounds like you want a regular text field and set the default value to <enter engineer's name here> Then when the user tabs or accesses the field they can overwrite the text that is there.

Hope that helps
