Can't edit a LC Designer form in a portfolio

I created forms in LC Designer and I'm now trying to add a header and footer to the forms which have been added to a portfolio I created in Acrobat 9 Pro.  I get an error message that states "You do not have sufficient permissions to perform this task."  I have removed all security from the document and the portfolio, but I notice that the restriction for changing the document in the form document security properties is still present no matter what I do.  I presume this is why I can't add the header/footer.  Is there anything I can do to remove this restriction so I can?

The problem is that XFA based PDF Form (a form created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer) cannot be edited using Acrobat.  There is no way around this.

Haven't played with the Portfolios - but you are probably bumping into the fact that Acrobat PDFs and XFA PDFs are different animals. Acrobat can't edit XFA PDFs.
