watched folders, frequency in endpoint vs cron expression in admin settings

I am following the sample ApplyXSLT with Watched Folders and am not sure what I'm doing wrong.. I think, perhaps, that the process is not even getting fired off.



Assuming I've followed all I can to a T, what steps can I do to trace what happens (or doesn't happen) when I copy the .xml file over to the watched folder (which should invoke the process)?

Just an update (question still persists). Today, a day later, I see that my result folder (and others) have spawned a new subdirectory for the new date, so _something_ is happening somewhere..

[watched_folder]/result/2007/12/19



Oh, and I should mention this is all in Linux.
