Static and Dynamic _ Differences?

Hi, could someone please explain the primary differences between a static and dynamic PDF form.

My understanding: A form that has fixed fields and fillable areas and are not subject to expand by user interface is considered static.

If a form has fields that make calculations based on entries elsewhere, does that alone make it dynamic or am I on the wrong track?

It is dynamic if you save it as such. I'm not sure what the downside is - if there is one - but saving the form as dynamic allows greater functionality for scripting. For example, you can program a field to be visible or invisible based on user interactions with the form's objects.
