Preprint code doesn't execute when form submitted via "internet email"

This is a weird one. I have JavaScript code which alters the presence of several text boxes associated with the preprint event for my form. The code works perfectly under all circumstances except for one: if a user clicks the submit button, then chooses the "internet email" option, and then clicks the "Print Form" button, the code doesn't run. (If they choose "desktop application", then click "Print Form", the script runs perfectly.) The REALLY weird part is this: even though my code which alters the visibility of certain text boxes does NOT run, a messageBox command DOES run. So, clearly the preprint event is being triggered, but some code is run and some is not.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I'd greatly appreciate it because about 50% of my user base will choose the "internet email" option when submitting my form.

The form was created with Livecycle Designer 7.0.
