LDAP Query Service Issue

Avatar

Former Community Member
Hi,

I am attempting to configure the 'LDAP Query' service as per Gary Gilchrists sample http://highway101.wordpress.com/2008/04/15/hello-world/

In the Properties tab there is an option called 'LDAP Query Options'. This can be found under the 'Input' section. When I attempt to set an option I am getting the following error: 'java.lang.RuntimeException: ldap_server_name:389'

Does anyone know what causes this error?

We have LDAP set up to authenticate users for the Workspace and Workbench so I would assume that the LDAP server name should be correct.

If you go into the adminui and look for the LDAP service, there will be a configuration tab on that service. You can configure the service there (those settings will be the default).

I have part one of Garys demo working. However, I can't get the second step to work. Gary does not use a search filter in the second call to LDAP yet Workbench is demanding that I put one in. I have tried various filters and just get a blank back for the manager name.

Any ideas?

Can you not put a filter in that will only request User Objects?
