LC8: Ligatures lost during import

I have created several forms in InDesign CS3 using the Garamond Premiere Pro font set. Several ligatures are used throughout the text.



I print to a PS file, distill using Acrobat Distiller 8.1.0 and PDF file displays the ligatures properly.



When I import the PDF into LiveCycle, I get the non-ligatures. The beautiful Qu is lost and all of those Th ff ffi's are all gone. The text is correct, just no ligatures.



In the Font panel I did not notice any options for the use of ligatures.



Am I out of luck? Is there are way to keep them? It seems like LC is the app that did not get CS3'ized.

If you are doing complex designs, have you fully evaluated the

possibility of using Acrobat forms? Acrobat forms keep the original

PDF intact, rather than converting it to a simplified XML.
