Integrate forms into application

OK, I am totally a newbie and have searched the internet and adobe for answers to my questions, and would really appreciate some light shed on my problem.

I am developing a windows application(.net) and want to add the functionality of electronic forms. So I would like to use adobe to create some forms, then use adobe reader to allow user to input info, and then grab the inputted info so that I can parse through it and update/insert/delete rows in my database.

What is the easiest way to do that?

I have gathered that with Lifecycle you can post form data to any url, which I then could have a java servlet to listen to it and do any data update necessary. I don't want to do that because I want my application to be self-contained and not dependent on an external application.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you noticed that LiveCycle is a family of products, each doing

different things? This one is about the product "LiveCycle Forms". Is

that the one you have been reading about? If so: LiveCycle Forms is a

server product, so it is not used for making self-contained

applications.
