Indicate number of accepted characters

Hello,

we are using LiveCycle Designer for both our print and online forms.

Since the form can be used in print version, we would like to indicate the number of accepted characters for an entry field by small separator lines or boxes.

Is there another way to specify a 20-characters-field rather than placing 20 text-fields in order to address all characters by a single name?

Thx for your help,

Günter

Yes, there is a way to accomplish this. In the "object" window, on the "Field" tab, there is a "Max Chars:." Just enter 20 in that space.

Thank you, that's how you limit the field but it does not give a visual indication to the user that the field ist limited to x characters.

Please take a look at our existing form http://www.eunet.at/business/docs/domain/Domain_BF.pdf

On the top left you see that the first entry field is limited to 13 characters by 13 white boxes.

How do I accomplish that with LiveCycle Designer?

Do I have to place 13 stand-alone boxes?

Thank you,

Günter

I believe that would be the best way, I don't know of any other way.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Good luck!
