Can't add new table to form with artwork

In livecycle, I've created a new form by opening an existing PDF, then selecting 'Create and Interactive Form using Fixed Pages'. My PDF is now artwork which i can now place text fields, etc. on which works fine.



But when I try to insert a table, that option (table, Insert table) is dimmed out. How do I insert a table?
