X-Connect Translation

Avatar

Level 3

When I request a translation via X-Connect, it sends a .zip file to the FTP server of the translation agency and in that zip file the HTML files for translation are normally named with the name. But recently, there is a set of numbers being added to the filenames which makes them too long.

Example : home-page-_21-117619313.html

Is there any dynamic indexing being added?

some common reasons for adding numbers to filenames in translation workflows include:

  1. Avoiding Filename Collisions: When multiple translation requests are submitted for the same page or file, the addition of numbers helps prevent filename clashes. Each file will have a unique identifier, ensuring that translated files can be accurately matched back to their respective source files.

  2. Order and Sequence Management: The numbers added to the filenames might be used to maintain the order or sequence in which translation requests are processed by the agency. This aids in tracking the progress of translations and managing multiple concurrent translation jobs.

Hi,

Consider implementing a filename mapping process to map the dynamically indexed filenames back to their original names after the translation is completed.
