search problem: boost in indexing_config

Hi, I have some problem with boosting in cq 5.6.1. I am using in indexing_config.xml:

 <property boost="5.0" nodeScopeIndex="true">jcr:title</property>

but it does not seem to have any effect. Can anybody advise me in this?
