power point slide corrupted Chinese characters AEM 6.1

Hi guys,

I am uploading a power point slide with Chinese characters into the AEM assets console. Once uploaded I can see the Chinese metadata extracted properly but the slides and their renditions display the Chinese characters as boxes.

I uploaded a word document with Chinese characters and the web rendition displays the actual Chinese characters.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you for your prompt response. I was able to get around this issue by putting the fonts under the JRE folder:

mkdir -p {{ jre_home }}lib/fonts/fallback

cp /usr/share/fonts/cjkuni-ukai/ukai.ttc {{ jre_home }}lib/fonts/fallback

Does this also work for you?

Should AEM be able to display the Chinese characters without this workaround?
