Hi guys,Many times when we customize the AEM login page we hardcode runmodes. Even though this gets the job done, there is a better way to do it using OSGi configs and Sling. The steps are as follows:1) Create a service that takes OSGi configurations.2) Create the required OSGi config nodes under the required runmodes.3) Call the service from your login.jspTo find out details please see my latest blog post here.Hope you find this useful!約瑟。

Hi guys! After having gone through this process several times, and after having had to answer this question several times, I decided to write a blog post about it.The gist of the post is you need to overlay the login page under /libs, and then make some adjustments to the login.jsp. After that you also need to make a couple of OSGi config changes so that AEM will redirect to your overlayed login page.To see full details please read more here:What does it take to customize the AEM login page? | 约瑟...

I had the same issue and here is what I did to get around it:Eclipse version:Eclipse IDE for Enterprise Java Developers.Version: 2019-06 (4.12.0)Build id: 20190614-1200Steps:1) After you click finish and get the error, go back to the "Configure Archetype Properties" menu.2) Click on Advanced and notice how about half of the properties are empty.3) Fill in the missing properties and click next.4) Even though the error will still be there, click Finish again and it will work.Good luck!

Hi guys,I noticed this was the case in a vanilla AEM 6.5 instance and did some digging and blogging.Basically the template that renders the content fragment is missing the cmp-image css class that makes images responsive. If you would like to read how I came to this answer please read more below:Why are images in Content Fragments not responsive? | 约瑟 Hope you find this useful,约瑟。

Hi guys,Has anyone here already successfully integrated AEM (6.4) Forms OSGi with Analytics? I followed the guide here:Adobe Experience Manager Help | Configuring analytics and reports When I get to the last step and click on Enable Analytics on the selected form, I can't see where the connection is made between the Form and the Analytics framework created in one of the previous steps.Am I missing anything here? Thanks in advance 何塞。

As Jörg mentioned, the functionality was designed so each user would define who their impersonators are.A few years ago I had to do something similar and my best advise to you is to create your own admin tool to add and remove impersonators from users. The good news is that the actual implenetation of this tool is quite easy Good luck!

Hi guys,Thanks for replying. Just to clarify, I already knew how to check if my AEM instance is up and running. What I'm asking is rather how to check the progress of the installation in the logs, kinda like what you see on the pop up when you run aem with the -gui option.Something that would allow me to read a percentage % progress on the overall installation. I thought perhaps there would be something in the logs, but so far I haven't been able to find any information in the logs that would al...

Hi guys,Does anyone here know if it's possible to track AEM's installation progress from any of the logs? From the stdout.log I can tell when the installation started and when it finished, but I was unable to find a way to track the installation progress from the logs the same way the installation progress is tracked in the window that pop ups when you install aem with the "-gui" option.Needless to say being able to track installation progress from logs is awfully useful in automation scripts.An...

Hi guys,I found the following example on how to programmatically get the orphan users from my LDAP server:How to Synchronize User with LDAP My only concern with this code is that it hardcodes the admin user credentials.I thought about getting the admin password stored in AEM but passwords in AEM are encrypted so this would not work.I think that when I make this call from the web JMX console, the post request is using the login-token from the cookie and so it does not need the admin user credenti...

Hi Jörg,It seems AEM 6.3 uses lazy loading in its "Filters" section, so it won't have this issue. It will have performance issues however if you were to open the dialog with all the tags in it, as the "Filters" section, just like the Search panel, is part of the whole request that can't be cached.Anyways, I'll open an improvement request ticket on my side. Thanks a bunch!何塞。

Hi guys,I was wondering if there is a way to cache tags with a dispatcher pointing to an author instance? This is for AEM 6.1We have a lot of tags and they all get loaded automatically when a user visits:1) http://localhost:4502/assets.html/content/damThe tags are loaded as part of the Search panel on that interface. I looked around and while the tags are ultimately an html unordered list, the entire search panel is embedded and rendered as part of that request. Since the request does not have a...

Thanks for your answer smacdonald2008!I think there should be a workaround. From the business (and the logical point of view really) it does not seem inconceivable to have lock/unlock functionality that does the following two:1) locks the entire asset (binary + metadata)2) versions changes made to the asset by the lock owner.Hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks again!

Hi guys,While working on a solution to bring the Classic UI's lock/unlock functionality over to the AEM 6.1 SP2 Touch UI I ran across this post:Enable Locking/Unlocking for Assets After some tests I discovered that when an asset is locked there is no versioning, even if the changes are made by the lock owner. Also, this lock only locks the metadata, the asset binary (or the actual image for example) is still open for anybody to edit it.I reached out to Adobe on a support ticket and they said tha...

Hi guys,One of the translation best practices proposed by Adobe states that to manage multilingual assets (or content in general) a language-based structure is best. See https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/administer/sites/translation/tc-bp.html for reference. However, there are a couple of issues I have encountered while maintaining such a structure:1) There is no way to make the language copies move in tandem. If I were to relocate one of the language copies on my tree structure, I have to m...

Hi guys,I am trying to figure out if there is any "sorting" logic for queries that have no "order by" clause. Take for instance the following query:select [jcr:path], [jcr:score], * from [dam:Asset] as a where contains(*, 'geometrixx') and isdescendantnode(a, '/content/dam')How do results get put together? Does it work on a first found first returned basis? I would appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction as to where to look for this information.I am aware of the Oak Document...

Yes, there are submissions under that path. That's why the query returns the list of forms in the query editor.

I've been looking around the documentation to figure out the purpose of this node but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know why this node is created and how AEM uses it?Any help is greatly appreciated,Thanks,何塞。

Hi guys,Is there a way to offload asset rendition generation? We would like to speed up our content migration so we want to "pre-process" all the assets before uploading them to AEM. The idea is that when the assets get to AEM they already are actual AEM assets rather than just image binaries with metadata waiting to be processed.Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks a bunch,何塞。

Hi kautuksahni,Thank you for your prompt response. I was able to get around this issue by putting the fonts under the JRE folder:mkdir -p {{ jre_home }}lib/fonts/fallbackcp /usr/share/fonts/cjkuni-ukai/ukai.ttc {{ jre_home }}lib/fonts/fallbackDoes this also work for you?Should AEM be able to display the Chinese characters without this workaround? Thanks,何塞。
