Permission changes after upgrade from 5.6.1 to 6.2

After performing an in-place upgrade from CQ 5.6.1 to AEM 6.2, we have noticed that the permission applied for users groups got changed. This happens with most of the nodes under etc node. This disables access to the contents from consoles like Workflows, Package Manager, Tagging etc. Is it the expected behavior and we need to explicitly define the permissions after the migration.

Best Regards

nosamplecontent runmode is now "secure (by default)".

See Running AEM in Production Ready Mode

Also, for example, see Setting Tag Permissions.

I recommend manually checking and resetting them as part of the upgrade process.
