exactly what should be there in itemResourceType property

this should have point to your code which will be creating list.

e.g.

for workflow modeller http://localhost:4502/libs/cq/workflow/admin/console/content/models.html/etc/workflow/models

if you switch from card view to list view  and again card view it load the content using code which is being called via itemResourceType.
