Is there any API for Interactive Communication wherein we can pass XML to render PDF ?

Hi, we are migrating correspondence management to Interactive Communication and using PrintChannel  to render pdf, but we don't see any method wherein we can pass xml, Just the way we are able to pass xml to LetterRenderService (mentioned in below link)

Do we need to create Prefill Service or is there any other way to render pdf with xml data ?
