How to migrate a launch from One AEM author instance to another?

We want to explore a scenario where we test a launch in staging, and then migrate that launch in a package to prod. Has anyone done that or know how?

We have AEM 6.3

When you say launch - do you mean a site under /apps, /content, etc?

I mean the new Launches functionality in 6.3 Launches - docs.adobe.com

Aparently content changes can be collected into a separate object and then deployed.

We just ran through a test where we stored a bunch of content changes, then created a crxpackage with this path:

/content/launches/2017/10/26/

We were able to upload that package and install it on another AEM instance and then use it flawlessly.

One thing to note is that it messes with version history of the node that it touches

Yes. That process was followed to create a launch. What we wanted to know was how to migrate a launch from one author, to another author.

It seems like author->publisher flows work OOTB.
