Consume API to load dropdown in AEM site page

Is it possible to consume API to load dropdown in AEM site page. Do we have any related documents about that?

Yes, you can create a core-components based Adaptive Form within a Sites page, and populate the dropdown using an API response.

Is there any article to refer to achieve this?

Basically we need to connect to some external APIs via Access token, get the data from APIs and pre populate the data in the Adaptive Form (created by content team) for the user.
