AEM User Group Corruption

Avatar

Level 1

We are using AEM 6.1 and we have some user groups created. Suddenly any of the user group gets corrupted, which means users are not able to access certain functionalities which they were able to access earlier.

Though no permission is changed, this happens. Though we give complete access (=admin) to that group, the same issue exists. Hence we have to create a new user group and fix the issue.

Could you please help let us know the issue and how this can be prevented in future ?

Are you still seeing the old user groups with same permission in useradmin?

Is there any piece of code which is handling ACL programmatically for these users?

Nope. We are not handling ACL programmatically.

We deleted the old user group after the creation of a new one with same permissions.

Are you seeing the same issue when you create the new group?

What is the frequency of the corruption? Does it happen any time or is there any pattern, like daily/weekly?

Is online AEM revision cleanup maintenance task scheduled in your AEM instance?

New group not having any issue, so far.

One on Sep 7 and another on Oct 30. Have occurred twice. We have offline revision cleanup (a shell script).

Thanks for the details. One more query:

Have you performed any CFP installation on AEM around the dates mentioned when group permission issue was observed?

A query was posted couple of months back for permission lost when CFP was installed on AEM 6.1:

AEM 6.1 SP2 - Fix Pack 11 - Permissions loss
