AEM Solr Integration

Hi all,

I understand AEM Solr Integration could be done 2 ways:

1) Solr as an Oak index for AEM

2) Solr REST integration for AEM

a. Where is the indexing process executed in each of these? Impacts processing burden on AEM.

b. Where are the indexing files stored in each of these? Impacts storage burden on AEM.

c. For integrating any Search product other than Solr, is it the same process?

Means two ways like above exist?
