AEM 6.5 | Uninstall of service pack not working

Avatar

Level 4

When I try to uninstall the service 6.5.16 just after installing it on my on-premise 6.5.12 through the package manager, it shows the message that it has been uninstalled successfully. Even after deleting the package and restarting, it is still showing the version as 6.5.16 instead of 6.5.12. Wondering if there is a way to revert it back to the older version 6.5.12.

In my experience, uninstalling Service packs isn't a perfect rollback.

I would rather suggest, to restore a clone of server, if available. Else clone another env to this server,

Please raise a support ticket to have their recommendation as well

  • Double-check the package installation and ensure that the uninstallation process completed successfully. Confirm that the package containing AEM 6.5.16 was uninstalled without any errors or warnings.
  • Clear the AEM caches to ensure that any remnants of the newer version are removed. This includes clearing the Felix cache, Sling cache, and the browser cache. Restart AEM after clearing the caches.
  • If you have a backup of your AEM instance from before the installation of AEM 6.5.16, you can restore the backup to revert back to the previous version. Make sure to follow the proper backup and restore procedures, ensuring that you restore all necessary files, configurations, and data.
