AEM Mobile video file embedding possible?

Avatar

Hello -

In DPS, we used the HTML Resources function to embed small mp4 video files that weren't available for public consumption on YouTube. I see that the HTML Resources function is not supported in AEM Mobile and that a new option of similar function hasn't been developed/deployed yet. The old videos have migrated but we have a need to add new ones to our AEM articles.

Is there any way to embed an mp4 into an InDesign article at this point? Any work arounds or other ideas?

We aren't using HTML articles, only InDesign.

ALSO - the migrated video files from HTML Resources do NOT work in Windows 10. Is this a known issue? Is there something we can do to get these working?

Thanks!

Maggie

You can simply place the video file in your InDesign document to embed it, and then use the Overlays panel to edit the settings. The advantage of using HTML Resources in DPS is that you can reference the video from multiple articles. However, HTML Resources isn't required. Does that answer your question?

I'm not aware of known issues with playing videos in Windows 10. You might want to contact technical support to report the issue.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the quick reply! That makes sense. The only thing I'm worried about now is article size for download time.

I'll consult tech support about the Windows 10 issue. It's just the HTML Resources content that doesn't work. Haven't seen much for help topic pages on Windows 10 apps with respect to AEM mobile, except how to create the app.

Thanks again!
