Request for Feature Enhancement (RFE) Summary:

We want to publish XF with the on-time function.

Please add the necessary items to the XF publishing screen.

(Example) On-time/off-time items , etc.

Use-case:

We want to publish XF with the on-time/off-time function, but the current XF publishing screen does not have the necessary items.

  Example: An item to specify on-time/off-time, etc.

Please add the necessary items to the XF publishing screen.

Background

-When publishing many products at the same time on the same date and time, many approval flows occur at the same time,

processing is queued and there are cases where it is not possible to publish at the specified time.

-As a countermeasure, We want to use the on-time function to perform pre-processing.

Current/Experienced Behavior:

The current XF publishing screen does not have the items required for the on-time/off-time function.

Improved/Expected Behavior:

Please add the items required for the on-time/off-time function to the XF public screen.

Environment Details (AEM version/service pack, any other specifics if applicable):

Regarding the enhancement request I made earlier, please revise all of the following text.

Before revision: XF publishing screen

After revision: XF properties screen

There are no on time or off time options on the properties screen. Please make it possible to set these.

Hi @HKobayashi I understand that you want to enhance the XF publishing screen in AEM to include the on-time/off-time function. This feature will allow you to specify a specific time for publishing products, which will help mitigate the issue of multiple approval flows occurring at the same time and causing processing queues.

To achieve this, I propose the following additions to the XF publishing screen:

On-time/Off-time Items

  • On-time: A date and time picker field to specify the exact time for publishing the product.
  • Off-time: A date and time picker field to specify the exact time for unpublishing the product (if required).
  • Pre-processing: A checkbox to enable pre-processing for the on-time function. This will allow the system to perform necessary processing before the specified on-time.

Here's an example of how the updated XF publishing screen could look:

**XF Publishing Screen**

* **Product Information**
+ Product Name: [text field]
+ Product Description: [text area]
* **On-time/Off-time Settings**
+ On-time: [date and time picker]
+ Off-time: [date and time picker]
+ Pre-processing: [checkbox]
* **Publishing Options**
+ [other publishing options]

@HKobayashi

Thanks for proposing this idea.
This has been reported to the engineering under the internal reference SITES-23478. The product team will triage this request to verify feasibility based on the prioritization model. This post will be updated according to the Jira status.

@HKobayashi

Thank you for your suggestion. I wanted to share that scheduling publication at a specific time is currently available through the Experience Fragment Managed Publication UI.

Regarding the request for an "on/off time" property for Experience Fragments, the product team has carefully considered this and determined that it’s not something they can implement at the fragment level. The reason is that Experience Fragments are designed to be used within pages, and setting an on/off time for the fragment could lead to a broken experience if it differs from the parent page's timing. Therefore, the on/off time should be managed at the page level to ensure consistency.

I hope this helps clarify the situation.
