Form Rules: - Code Editor for AEM Cloud Service SDK

Hi all.

We are using AEMaaCS, and are currently looking at forms.

I cannot find the "code editor" anywhere for the forms rules. This is the editor where you can type actual JavaScript. As a summary, I have:

  • Downloaded a local copy of the AEM SDK v2022 onwards
  • Installed the forms package .far file
  • Added a forms content package to have forms templates installed
  • Added the admin user to "forms-power-users"
  • Create a form with some form fields / components
  • On adding rules, there is only the visual rules editor.
  • There used to be (in previous AEM versions) the dropdown on the top right to switch between visual rule editor and code editor.
  • There is no drop down or indication of how to get access to the code editor.

So, is the code editor still there for forms? I could not find any documentation to state that the code editor has been deprecated for AEMaaCS??

Thank you.

For those wondering, the "code editor" has gone for AEMaaCS.

Hi, I am still wondering whether it is actually gone or I can still use it?

@david_dorr1 Code editor doesn't exist in Forms CS, you have to use visual editor and client libs(for custom functions)
