I'm in the process of upgrading from LiveCycle Designer 11 and would like to know if AEM Forms allows a fillable form designer to specify the error message that is displayed by unsupported PDF readers. For forms produced by "recent" versions of LiveCycle, the message that is displayed appears to be hard-coded to:

While that information is helpful to a somewhat confident/persistent user, I am distributing forms to hundreds of users in hundreds of different organizations with varying levels of technical skills and support. As a result, it would be extremely helpful if I could provide a shorter message targeted at explaining exactly what these users should do. Does anyone know a robust method for customizing the error message that is displayed?
From searching the forums, the best I can find is this old post with a fragile hack mentioned in one of the replies. However, most of my hits are for the many posts where people are confused about how to view the PDFs; so, possibly I'm missing a good solution that's already been posted.
On a side note, is there any easy way to download a comprehensive manual for AEM Forms or LiveCycle? If I could do that, I could happily grep through the manual for solutions to issues like this one. As it is, all I can find are pieces of documentation scattered across many links and accompanied by lots of miscellaneous tutorials, and the website's search functionality tends to return a bunch of unwanted results that are hard to filter out. For example, this page has a link with the tantalizing text "Full documentation set". Unfortunately, following that link takes me to a page with lots of links to generally useful other pages, but there's not really what I would call a "full documentation set" to be found within a couple of clicks.
If anyone can provide me with leads on either of my questions above, I'll really appreciate it.
