The Adaptive Forms Core Components are a set of open-source, BEM-compliant components that are built on the foundation of the Adobe Experience Manager WCM Core Components. They are specifically designed to be used for creating Adaptive Forms, which are forms that adapt to the device, browser and screen size of the user. These components can be used to create exceptional data capture and enrollment experiences by providing a wide range of form field options, including text fields, checkboxes, drop-down menus, and more. They also include features like validation, conditional logic, and responsive design, which can be used to create forms that are user-friendly and easy to use.

Additionally, as these components are open-source, developers have the ability to easily customize and extend the components to match the specific needs of their organization. And, These components are built on BEM methodology which ensures that they are scalable and maintainable.

Why Adaptive Forms Core Components?

Data capture experiences are crucial for lead generation and enrollment, and the Adaptive Forms Core Components provide a powerful solution for creating forms that are optimized for data capture. Some of the reasons to use Core Components to create these experiences over foundation components are:

  • Easy Customization: Customizing Adaptive Forms Foundation Component often required specific knowledge. Core Components for Adaptive Forms, address the customization challenges by providing standards-based styling and customization framework. This enhances developer velocity by many folds.
  • Editor for Headless Adaptive Forms A headless form essentially separates the front-end and back-end of a form, allowing developers to design the front-end independently of the back-end logic by using front end framework of choice like React. A headless form, provides a JSON-based form definition for a seamless data capture experience over multiple channels like chat, web, and mobile. It also allows headless form to be consumed and displayed in unique ways across various channels. Adaptive Forms Core Components helped provide a simple drag- and-drop based authoring environment to easily create Headless Adaptive Forms.
  • Create an Adaptive Form in AEM Page Editor or Experience Fragment: Adaptive Forms Core Components allowed marketers and developers to use AEM Page Editor to create forms directly within Sites pages, converging the content and enrollment experiences. These enrollment experiences (forms) embedded within Sites pages harness the full richness of Adaptive Forms offering rule-based dynamic behavior, robust data validations, seamless back-end data integrations, document of record, and streamlined business process automation. Additionally, the inclusion of e-Signature functionality ensures  a complete and secure enrollment journey for users.

There are many other benefits. For details, see Adaptive Forms Core Components documentation.
